Major road construction this summer on southbound Hwy 75 in Manitoba will slow traffic approaching the Emerson border crossing. Work has begun on a significant upgrade to the southbound lanes of PTH 75 and it will last until at least the end of September.
During construction, at least one of the three southbound lanes of traffic will be closed and at times only one lane may be open. The work is being done on weekdays only but lanes may still be restricted on weekends as well. Access will remain available to the duty free shop and the Canada Border Services Agency facilities.
In addition, roadwork is being done on northbound Highway 75 near the town of Morris. They are trying to complete that project sometime in the fall.
These two projects will at times cause significant traffic delays for travelers using the Emerson / Pembina border crossing between Manitoba and North Dakota.
